My First Attempt at Not Getting Lost

My travel to Sylhet, Bangladesh was too exciting and adventurous. After HSC me and my friends planned for a tour where we go without our parents for the first time. It was too hard to take permission form our parents but we did it. I’ve gathered many good experiences while traveling for the first time with friends. For a few reasons my 4 days, Sylhet tours will always be a memorable one. So, here I’m to share Sylhet tour stories and the natural beauty of this picturesque land in South Asia, Bangladesh.

According to our plan, we booked our train tickets  of morning before 10 days of the journey. Firstly, me and my friends (Apon, Mohona, Nairit, Rohid and saraf) gathered at the station for a beautiful train journey. But the train was late and we waited for 8 hours. Finally, “Upoban Express” arrived at 7:30pm at station and scheduled for 8:00pm. So, we take our seats as our ticket.

Unfortunately, our seats was the last compartment  of the train. Suddenly the train started slowly at 7:50pm which is unusual with Bangladeshi train. It seemed a little suspicious to us. Sometimes letter we understood that there was something wrong. The train left its last two compartments at this station. Then we got very worried. And took our bags and we started walking towards the station.

Lastly, We came to know that our compartments were kept in the garage due to a problem with the electrical connection of our compartment. In the meantime I lost my winter jacket. But my friend had an extra jacket so I didn't have to worry anymore. At last, We started the journey at 9 pm..

We were having a lot of trouble getting into the residential hotel  But Saraf's father has a house in Sylhet. His father lives there alone, but when we went, he was in Dhaka on some work. So, we stayed in that house for 3 days. Also, gave us a jeep to use

At 4am re arrived at Sylhet Railway Station. Monir Bhai (Driver) took us home from the station. In our whole Sylhet tour, we was guided by Monir Bhai.

Touring around Sylhet City

In the afternoon, we started exploring Sylhet city. Two famous shrines in Sylhet. First, I liked to visit the Shrine of Hazrat ShahJalal. I  heard a lot about this shrine and the world famous Sufi Hazrat Shah Jalal (R). I have liked seeing many "Jalali Kobutor" inside the shrine. We visited the Shrine of Hazrat Shah Paran.

This city is also well known as Second London because many locals well settled in London and they always contribute a lot to develop their city.

One the way, spend some time to enjoy the beauty of Surma River from one bridge. I came to know in other seasons Surma river lost its charm and became dry. The remote view of the Keane Bridge from this bridge was beautiful also.

Also, we visited SUST campus. the beauty of the campus architecture blow my mind . we back home at night and made some snacks for all of us.

The real adventure started on the second day of my Sylhet tour.

Bote ride at Ratargul Swamp Forest

To explore the most beautiful waterland and taste a ride of a boat we went, Ratargul Swamp Forest in Gowainghat. Ratargul Swamp Forest is one of the best freshwater swamp forests in the world. My most favorite destination in Sylhet is Ratargul Swamp Forest for extraordinary beauty and adventure.

A boat ride in this forest will always be a memorable one. The boatman (Ferdous) was such a kind person. He amazed me with his priceless smile and right talks. Every love from new people around me throughout my journey will always remember. We took our lunch in a local food store.

Beautiful Jaflong

In the evening enjoyed the sunset moment at Jaflong, the popular hill station in Bangladesh while coming back from the tamabil border. The Sylhet Tamabil highway road condition is not ok. And Jaflong lost its old beauty. I was sad to see how people are collecting stones and consequently destroying the natural beauty of this destination!

Driver Bhai was sharing his own experience, how beautiful was Jaflong even 7 to 8 years back. Beside, jaflong zero point was enjoyable.

Meet some Indian visitors and brought Indian products in cheap rate. The view of “Dawki” amazed me and my friends.

We had dinner at “ Pach Vai Restaurant”, found this new restaurant quite standard and clean among other local restaurants in Sylhet City.

Malnichara Ca Bagan and Sadapathor

We were tired, but travel itch wouldn't quit. On that day we decided to go “Sada Pathor” located in Volaganj, Sylhet.

After taking our breakfast we started our journey at 10am. It was a winter morning , even we cant saw the mountains properly. During the journey, we got a chance to visit “Malnichara Ca Bagan”.

Which was mind-blowing and huge. We enjoy lots of time their and took some snacks.

after 1 hours of road journey we reached at “Sada pathor”.

As far as the eye could see, there were only white stones on both sides, a transparent blue water in the middle, and clouds embracing the mountains.

It was like a beautiful paradise. All in all, it was a canvas of amazing beauty. We also ride on boat and enojoy the view. Took some moment on that place and feel the beauty of the place.

We back to Sylhet city at late night. We booked our ticket of “Upaban Express” of mornig. So at night me , Nairit and mohona took a rickshaw and went to railway station to collect out return tickets from railwaymaster..

The picture shows a thank you note left for a writer (Saraf's dad) who helped us a lot. We gave him a letter and some stones as a gift instead of thanking in phone call.

Next morning We back to Dhaka and reached home safely.
