From Platform 9¾ to the Enchanted World of Magic: Exploring the Journey with the Harry Potter Movies

 




Welcome to the enchanted universe of magic where magic is everywhere. A fascinating experience taken from the famous Noble Harry Potter by J.K Rowling . And its cinematic adaptation can put anyone on a journey of spellbound fantasy through the world of magic. There are 8 movies based on the Harry Potter novel and they were released between the years 2001 to 2011. Today we'll embark together on a journey from first movie to last movie, a 10 years long movie run . The Harry Potter movie franchise was a mass success and stood in 3rd position in the world with 7.2 billion dollars.

 


First movie: Harry Potter and the Philosopher's stone.

Magical journey starts from a neglected boy Harry Potter who was completely unaware of the term magic and suddenly gets to know about his power and the magical school Hogwarts by the character name Hagrid . His first year of the wizarding school was the main theme of the first movie. Where he met with his two best friends Hermione Granger and Ronald Weasley, headmaster Dumbledore. First movie introduced the whole magical world to the audience. The time Harry entered platform 9 ¾ his life changed from that moment. Later he discovered the truth about his parents death. He got to choose his magical wand ,and came to know about his wealthy family. The moment he entered Hogwarts it was magic everywhere . He gets introduced to the magical game quidditch where he plays one of the toughest roles . Later in that year he managed to uncover the truth of the magical philosopher stone,get the glimpse of the killer of his parents, the main antagonist of the series Voldemort .

 

Second movie: Harry Potter and the chamber of secrets 

Second year of Harry Potter in Hogwarts starts with uncertainty when Harry and Ron fail to enter platform 9 ¾ and decide to board Ron's flying car and somehow reach Hogwarts. After returning to Hogwarts several strange events occur and Harry and his friends start to find the reason behind these. He uncovers the chamber of secrets where a gigantic monster basilisk was hiding and controlled by the part of Voldemort's soul. Harry kills the monster with the help of magical beast Phoenix and destroys the soul of Voldemort.

 

Third movie:Harry potter and the prisoner of azkaban 

Third movie of the Harry Potter franchise showcases the truth of mass murderer Sirius black, who escapes from the Azkaban prison to kill Harry Potter and was accused of helping Voldemort to kill his parents. Harry learns about the truth of Sirius black, overcomes his fear of dementors ,guard of Azkaban. He mastered his iconic spell expecto patronum . He realizes the misconception about Sirius black and uncovers the real culprit behind the death of his parents .

 

Fourth movie:Harry potter and goblet of fire

The fourth movie mainly focused on a Triwizard tournament. Where wizards and witches from different wizard schools come together to participate in a dangerous tournament. However

Harry was underage for the tournament but still goblet of fire chose him as a participant and this type of magical contract bound him to take part in the tournament. With the help of professor Moody he cleared the stages of Triwizard tournaments like rescuing his friends from underwater beasts, collecting golden ball from dragon den and lastly the magical deathly maze. But it was always a plan from Voldemort from the beginning. It was professor Moody who put the name of Harry Potter in the goblet of fire. Triwizard cup teleports Harry and his friend Cedric to the grave of Voldemort, where Voldemort used Harry to rebirth . Then Cedric was killed,one of the darkest moments in the Harry Potter series. However Harry Potter was saved and Cedric's body returned to Hogwarts .

 

Fifth movie:Harry Potter and the order of Phoenix 

With the Ministry of magic declining the comeback of Voldemort and addressing this issue as a planning of headmaster Dumbledore to take over the ministry of magic. Realizing the importance of self defense via magic, Harry Potter forms a group of students and creates an order of Phoenix or Dumbledore's army to fight against Voldemort. In this movie Harry again lost his only family,his godfather Sirius black and resulted in a crucial battle between two great magicians of the era Dumbledore and Voldemort. 


Sixth movie:Harry Potter and the half-blood prince 

Ordered by Dumbledore, Harry started to create a bond with potion professor Slughorn to uncover the truth about the dark magic Voldemort used as he was also the favorite teacher of Voldemort a k a Tom Riddle.Harry gets a book of potion which was owned by half blood prince and used to learn many spells and Also helped him increase interaction with Slughorn. Harry learns about the dark form of magic named horcrux that Voldemort used to split his soul among different objects so that he can be immortal while Draco was ordered by Voldemort to kill professor Dumbledore. The army of Voldemort the death eaters enter Hogwarts with the help of Draco and professor Snape kills Dumbledore and Harry was watching all these . He tried to kill professor Snape but it was all along the half blood prince whose spell was Harry using and so it didn't have an effect on him. Hogwarts was taken over by Snape and death eaters. 


Finale:Harry Potter and the deathly hallows part 1 and 2


After knowing the truth about horcruxes Harry, Hermione and Ron leave on a mission to find all horcruxes and destroy them. Somehow Harry can feel the presence of the horcrux , according to the clue they started to find . With the help of their friendship they destroy the horcrux with the swords of Gryffindor and basilisk teeth. After destroying the Helga Hupplepuff cup Harry gets a glimpse of another horcrux  Rowena Ravenclaw's Diadem . In order to destroy that they sneak into Hogwarts and take over the control from Snape. The last horcrux was Voldemort's snake nagini. A great wizarding war took place that time between students and death eaters. After a while Harry reveals the truth and sacrifice of professor Snape. It was professor Snape who always protected Harry .From his memory he learns many truths likewise to kill Voldemort Harry must have to die. Because while killing his parents Harry's mother casted a love spell which protected Harry from Voldemort attack but on the other hand a part of Voldemort's soul was put into the only living thing Harry Potter. It was necessary for Harry to die but while Voldemort used the unforgivable curse on Harry, he basically destroyed his own soul unwillingly.After fighting with Voldemort Harry defeats Voldemort with the help of the elder wand.


After so many years Harry is married to Ginny Weasley and has kids now. Same 9 ¾ platform ,same Hogwarts express train ,his son Albus Severus Potter boards into Hogwarts express train and the legendary movie series comes to an end with that chocolate frog again jumping into the train. One of the longest running movie franchises comes to an end in 2011 but still when I rewatch them it takes me on a enchanted tour with little Harry Potter.
