Chapter 3: Beauty of Khagrachori and The ending.

Chapter 1:

“Where are the stories true? Dreams become colorful? Time to blow hundreds of flowers and make all dreams come true.”  Our lives are quite brief and we should make our lives great. Following the motif, I, along with my 5 friends, went on a beautiful tour as well as an adventure to one of the most beautiful places in Bangladesh, Sajek Valley.

It was 26th December 2023 and our tour was going to start from Kalabagan bus stand and we chose Hanif Enterprise bus service. Our first destination was Khagrachori. So that was the time we all were looking for, at 11pm our bus drive geared up and started for Khagrachori. We got our break for 30 minutes at around 1:30 am at Noorjahan Hotel which was on the Dhaka-Chittagong Highway. We took some snacks from there. We reached Matiranga at around 4am and there we had police checking. I along with my 2 friends get off from the bus to have tea. There we had faced the lowest temperature in our lives and it was around 9 degree celsius . The road from Dhaka to matiranga was quite smooth but the main journey began from Matiranga. The rout was horrifying, causing shivers at every turn. But our bus driver was just too much experienced, every turn was known to him. One of my friends was very excited and he went to front seat beside driver and then there was a huge turn and my friend just flew from one side of the seat to another. Seeing him flying like that we got scared but when we saw he was alright we couldn’t stop laughing. We reached Khagrachori at around 6am after such a roller coaster ride.

After reaching Khagrachori we had our breakfast from there and then we reserved “Chander Gari” from there for 2days. (Chander Gari is a local vehicle 4-wheeler jeep with high horse power engine that carries people to the Sajek Valley). Before we start our journey, we bought enough drinking water and snacks for all of us. At around 10 am our journey to Sajek Valley from Khagrachori with our Chander Gari started.

Before we start our journey, we bought enough drinking water and snacks for all of us. At around 10 am our journey to Sajek Valley from Khagrachori with our Chander Gari started.

We were fascinated by the winding, mountainous route with an appearance of clouds. We sang songs together also our local driver sang their local songs for us. We were moving forward through the road between the sky on both sides. It was the best road with such an environment I had ever seen in my life. It took almost 4 hours to reach the Sajek Valley. After reaching there we checked into our resort. The resort was one of the best parts of the tour. Our resort’s name was “Sampari Resort”. The view from the resort was just…it can’t be explained with words. We took some rest in our resort and then we had our lunch from the local restaurant. We had “Pahari Murgi Vuna” which is basically Mountain Chicken Curry as well as we had rice and lentils soup.

In the afternoon, we went to the helipad and chilled for a while. Then we had some local snacks as well as Bamboo Tea. Then we witnessed the most magnificent sunset of our lives.

We also visited “Lusai Village” and the “Rock Garden”. We had seen the traditional dresses and houses of the locals in the Lusai Village. Throughout the whole tour we felt like we were just discovering the nation with an insatiable thirst in travel. One would never be able to know how beautiful Bangladesh is if he or she doesn’t go on a travel. Let’s continue. In the night we explored various local shops where they were selling hand made products like jewelry, hand bags, bamboo toys etc. We had Bamboo Chicken along with Bamboo Biriyani at dinner. After Dinner we chilled in the open space of our resort. We had played Uno card game, sang songs and so on. That’s the ending of our first day.

Chapter 2:

The second day was the most exciting day of our tour. We got to know from the locals that there was a beautiful waterfall named “Komolok”. After doing breakfast we started for the waterfall and there we did a big mistake, we didn’t take a local guide with us. It was almost 5-kilometer upright route. We reached the waterfall without any problem and it took us almost 1.5 hours. We enjoyed a lot in the waterfall. The waterfall was the most beautiful thing I had seen in the whole tour.

But the main problem occurred when we were going back. Unfortunately, we got lost.  As it was a off season there were no people at all. We were all on our own. And we must have been extra lucky that day because on top of being lost it started raining and the path became very slippery. Again, one of our friends sprained his leg. Then we took some time and all sit together to plan what to do next. We got 2 roads and one of them was the correct one. So, we decided I would lead from the front 2 friends would help our injured friend and other 2 would mark the road from behind so that if the road we were heading was incorrect, we could go back at the staring. There were some terrifying surprises left in the adventure for us. One of the 2 friends from behind suddenly slipped and he was hanging on the edge. The other friends along with me rushed to him and luckily, we saved him. The accident ended up just missing us by a hair. We took some rest and the rain stopped. After more than 3 hours of that horrifying tracking, we reached the starting point successfully without any loss. Then we went to our resort, took shower and a big nap.

At night we enjoyed camp fire, barbeque and so on. That was the good ending of such a memorable day.

Chapter 3:

It was time to leave the most beautiful place of Bangladesh (from my perspective). But the nature still had the best surprise for us. Even though it was December, suddenly a heavy rain occurred and the whole of Sajek was surrounded by clouds. We were in the clouds; we were touching the clouds. What a mesmerizing experience it was! After enjoying the cloud, we hoped in our Chander Gari and started for khagrachori. There we visited “Horticulture Heritage Park”, “Alutila Guha” and “Hajachora Waterfall”. All of the spots were just outstanding and eye catching. It was that much beautiful that it was just healing my eyes.

It was 5pm and it was the end of our journey with the Chander Gari. We said goodbye to our respected driver. Then we took our lunch from a local restaurant in khagrachori. After that we visited the local market and bought some gifts for ou family and friends. At 11pm we boarded our bus. We all were too tired and most of the time we slept in the bus. At around 6am we reached Kalabagan bus stand, from where our that beautiful journey started.

When we reached the bus stand, we all were feeling that our happiness is short, lonely, and silently merging into the courtyard. But we also accepted that, what was started would end sometime and that was the rule of life. Adios until the next ADVENTURE.
